Classes


Classes may start back up again in the Fall, though with the current C-virus pandemic, all the work needed to get that to happen is on hold.  Safety is a prime concern, and we'll play it safe.  Please check back, we'll keep you posted as the summer progresses.
Basic Handbuilding

Learn how to make a free-form vessel with a slab of clay and a little creativity.

Carving Basics- bas relief

Using a technique called bas relief, you can carve a variety of designs right into a clay vessel or flat slab of clay.

Glazing
Cost:  $10.00

Glazing is the final step in the process of creating your ceramic artwork.

Open Studio
​Cost:  $15.00/hour

Open Studio is time in the studio that is not instructional.  You can work on something you've already started, or start something new. It is available to those who have already taken a class from us.  ​Additional clay is available for purchase.

* Kiln Firings  
​Kiln firing is included in the cost for artworks 1 foot in any dimension and smaller, for a limited number of artworks, depending on available kiln space; $3.00 per inch thereafter.
I work in my studio, and like to share it as a sort of gathering place for those who are interested in creating their own works of art in clay.  All instructional classes, except Glazing, are one and a half hours in length, and cost $35.00 each.  You will receive hands-on instruction, materials and help with your own project.

  1. Begin the artwork in the first class and leave it in the studio to dry.  If you are finished, it will soon be bisque fired in the kiln. If you are not finished, you can attend an Open Studio time and come back at a later date.  

  2. Your artwork will be bisque fired in the kiln after it dries.  You'll be notified once the bisque firing is completed, and then you can return to glaze it.  

  3. A final kiln firing is completed after the glazing is done.  The whole process can take up to a month.  You will be notified when this is done, and then you can pick up your masterpiece!
